Teaching Experience

As a dedicated educator, Francisco currently serves as Professor of Bassoon at the University of Louisville, where he leads weekly lessons, reed classes, and chamber music coaching.

His pedagogical footprint extends internationally. Francisco has served as a guest clinician and masterclass leader at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico, and the Meg Quigley Vivaldi Competition. He has also served on the faculty for the Eastern Music Festival, the Puerto Rico Summer Music Festival, and Sewanee Winterfest.

A passionate advocate for diversity in classical music, Francisco actively mentors under-represented students. He has served as a coach for the National Alliance for Audition Support (NAAS) in Detroit and the VIA Academy, providing free lessons and mentorship to young musicians from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, his work with the National Youth Orchestra (NYO/NYO2) has helped guide high school students toward successful careers in music. His private high school students have achieved top chairs in All-State competitions in Kentucky, and have been accepted with partial or full scholarships to prestigious institutions such as the Cleveland Institute of Music, University of Kentucky, Ball State University, University of Louisville, and Emory University.
